In another fly swap? I don’t mind running it, but I’m getting married in octotber so I won’t have much time come mid septmeber, but if we can all agree to have flies sent to me by late august, early septmeber… I can get them out to everyone for the fall season.
Whats the theme?

I’m in - let me know if there’s a certain theme (shrimp/crab/baitfish/whatever)
Since we did Shrimp and Crab patterns last spring, why don’t we try baitfish. I’ve been wanting to give a polar fiber minnow a shot ever since I saw it in a magazine a few months back.
Joshua1- no problem being in NC. We can do this entirely through the mail.
I’ll tie up some chart/white rattle minnows.
Looks like we’re off to a start.
FF- Char/White rattle minnows
TJ55- Polar Fiber minnow
Nikon-?
Joshua1- ?
Lets say we close out sign ups for this exchange next friday, 8/22, and have the flies in the mail two weeks later, 9/05.
Open to anyone. If you’ve never participated in one of these, I recommend you give it a shot. Its a lot of fun.
I’ll email everyone next week with my address.
I may be in I could tie this:
or some glass minnow imitations I have been working on.
“Fishing is alot like sex…when its good,it’s really good, and when its bad, its still pretty good.”
That looks sweet

Joshua1- Redfish Seaducer
TJ55- Polar Fiber Minnow
Shadowgrass- Glass minnow variation
FF- Rattle minnow
Nikon-?
Off to a good start!!
I’m down. I’ve got a rattling bendback/clouser combo fly that I’ve been working on lately if anyone is interested. It uses beads on the hook instead of the usual glass rattle. I’ll try and post a picture soon
Sorry y’all but my tying bench and tools are currently packed and on their way to The sand box… I should be able to get on the next one… It looks like I’ll be riding a desk for the most part while I am deployed so I should have time to overstuff my fly box for the spring when I return… I’ll keep watching out for the next one… y’all take care

No kidding!! She has given me the green light to look at new boats once we find a new house.
You interested in a fly exchange? I know you like to throw the long rod every now and then.
Let’s see who can do the best job matching a dupree. Then I can quit paying seven dollars a fly.

Actually, I can reproduce them quite well. What you need to do is buy a dupree and some silly putty. Use the putty and the fly to make a mold (stick the fly in the putty. Place hook in the mold and pour tuffle eye into the mold. hit it with the UV light. Remove, place a small amount of holographic lure tape on the outside and lightly coat with a tuffle finish. Viola Dupree spoon in less than 15 minutes.

I’d like to get in on this. Not sure what I would tie, but sure I can come up with something. How many?
