Anyone know Cancun?

Hey so my brother is getting married in May lokos like at some all inclusive 5 star place in or near Cancun, I have seen a few websites for guide services, anyone out there fished down there? suggestions, and is there some do-it-yourself options for the days I don’t hooke up a guide? Probably there close to a week and will go 2 days guided. Thanks

Barry

Barry, I have used these guys twice.http://www.cancuntarponfishing.com I will use them again. They have good equipment if you don’t have your own. When I was there in Aug. I caught baby tarpon, snook and had several good shots at permit. This is lagoon fishing in the hotel zone.I do the 6 hr. trips(6am-12pm)so there is still the afternoons to do the beach thing. There is little DIY in the hotel zone in my opinion Where are you staying? I stay at the Palace Resorts if you need info. Good Luck, Mike

Thank you sir! I am not sure where we will be at, my brother is headed down for a little recon to see if this is where he wants to get married so till then it is unkown, Thanks so much I would like to chat with about the do it yourself Cancun stuff if you don’t mind shooting me an email? That site looks great i was thinking about one 6 hr and one 8 hour but if i am there a week I would like to chase fish if I can on my own you know! Thanks again and my emails is bmurphy055@gmail.com I really appreciate it and look forward to hearing more about you experiences and advice for down there!

If it swims throw a fly at it!

I went fishing one day during my honeymoon the first week in June 2008, my wife got a day in the spa, I got fishing (good deal to me)! www.tarponcancun.com These guys were great, I had a blast and would go again in a heartbeat. They picked me up from the hotel drove up to the boat dock and we left from there. We stayed at www.excellence-resorts.com - EXCELLENCE PLAYA MUJERES. The hotel was new at the time and away from downtown Cancun which is what we were looking for. There were kayaks available for guests if you wanted to try fishing around the beach, but the fly-fishing I did was lagoon fishing nowhere close to the resort. Hope this helps.

Nice fish Bro, yea i am getting stoked about my brothers wedding gotta a guide calling me friday permit bones tarpon and snook…oh my! Not too expensive compared to Fla or bahamas plus more species all in the same spot, guy said May when I am probably going is the best month of the year, I take all the bad things I ever said about my brother!
