Bingo

I know when you catch the fish you posted that you are just barely off the good hard bottom structure, lol.

Golden Tilefish for a thousand, Alex?

EF got it, sand tile… now let’s hear that paddlefish tale!

Its a Montana Paddlefish.

You catch them on hook and line, but not the way most people think.

They get in shallow holes and channels in the rivers out there and you fish for them by foul hooking them or snagging them much like you would do spawning salmon in alaska as they dont eat normal bait, but feed on plankton. They don’t have teeth either, so snagging them is the only way.

In that second picture above you can see where the fish is foul hooked.

Its a catch and release fish, not legal to release in grease either I don’t think, but if you did shuck and eat one you would find the skin is tough as boot leather and the body armor under that is akin to a boar hogs.

They are coveted for the row, which is said to be better than sturgeon, but you have to kill them to get to it.

Thats all I got

Looks like an alligator snapper.

Nice, and guess was wrong…Amazing stuff out there…

Thanks
