I know in past years there have been a good number of smaller dolphin caught in 90-100 ft when the water got real warm. Had anyone put lines in shallow water yet with any luck? Trying to make a decision to start off trolling or go ahead and bottom fish
We were out catching some bottom fish that depth this weekend, water looked dirty but you might have some luck with it. The remoras kept our light line busy so didn’t get a chance to see if any dolphin around.
Do you guys ever get dolphin in the harbor or at the jetties?
Not at all. I’ve heard of guys picking up some peanuts around the 60.

I’ve caught gaffers at the 60 in June before. I wouldn’t be afraid at all to troll in 100 ft. I’m sure the kings are around for sure too if your into that kinda thing.

Ah, was curious. We often get dolphin right up to the buoy chain and sometimes within yards of the beach where I moved from in NC. Like I said, just curious. Thanks.
Where’d you move here from, Carteret County? I moved here from Topsail Beach. Lets get together and get after em sometime.

We were in 90 to 100 yesterday and had a drift line out and got at least 10 only 5 were worth keeping though. They are there but I think they are mostly peanuts. Had a peanut hit the high speed and never knew it till we pulled the lines.
