Anyone up for a get together???

Some of you know that several members of this site have busted their a$$ to try and put up a good fight against David Cupka,Tom Swatzel and the rst of the council.

Their efforts are facing new challenges everytime we turn around.
New appointments,new closure ideas ect…
Is it not time to take off the gloves and show up in force and force people to take notice?

I’m sure if we get 100 fishermen together for one meeting, they can get a few of their friends for the next and so on and so on.
How many of you know people who would help pay for a billboard or two or ten in places where it would do some good? I can see Cupkas mug beside Haley on an I-26 billboard saying something like"Why Own A Boat With These Two In Charge?" How much attention would the same billboard get on the only road going into Edisto?

I’m sure there are better ideas out there if we get enough people together…I’m not talking about paying lobbyist, starting a newsletter
or anything of the sort.

If anyone knows of a place that can be rented for such a meeting,I will take care of the tab.I don’t come close to making the kind of money Cupka and his cohorts make but I’m sick and tired of watching
every little bit of headway be met with yet another proposed closure.
What is wrong with putting up a fight like liberal organizations do when they don’t get their way?

Sounds like a good idea.

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!

I like the billboard idea.
I’d donate towards a campaign like that.

i like the public hanging method…

How bout we hang them in public from the billboard? Im in for the team meeting

I would chip in some cash

I am in for whatever. I have been passive expecting things things to get better but something has to be done. Can’t complain much if we dont take action.

  1. Tom isn’t on the Council anymore, but he wasn’t your enemy to begin with.
  2. All these grandiose ideas sound great, but mean very little to bureaucrats who don’t hang in your crowd, and certainly don’t listen to your crowd. They didn’t listen to you on snapper, they didn’t listen to you on grouper, they didn’t listen to you on VMS. They just happened to do what you want

Just ask any of them why they made the decision they made on VMS. I speak with these guys regularly. I deal with them when dealing with fishing legislation. The key to this is a change at the top. The governor doesn’t have any fishing agenda…she’s ignorant of the facts and will likely continue to be ignorant. She’s from Lexington. There’s no ocean in her backyard. She’s not some environmental wacko…she just doesn’t know any better. It’s not on her radar. Even if you were to put it on her radar, she doesn’t appoint these guys. She makes a recommendation. The key is the TOP. We need a change in administration, and until you get that, your spitting in the wind. By all means, continue spitting if you desire, but the real changes will NOT occur until Obama and his administration moves on.

BINGO! Agree 100%... The "CEO" and "President" need to be removed...

I am in for helping out in anyway I can.

With the political climate being what it is, the response by Mr. Goldfinch might be the most depressing I’ve read in quite some time.
If the only way we can gain some ground is to rid Washington of Democratic control ,what is the point?

If the council doesn’t care about what “my crowd” has to say , what in the hell is the point of going to the meeting in Sept.?
Sad to say that the only way to fix anything anymore is to use the politicians who got us where we are in the first place.

jfyi billboards are extremely expensive, you could buy a yard full of boats for what u can spend a year in billboards

I say we try the send a fish to the state house campaign, as they pile up on the state house steps those in charge will take notice real quick like!!

'bout time

yellabird,
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!
We need to change the SOCIALISTs in charge. However, we have allowed it to happen. The Republican party has become just like the Democrats from the early 2000’s and cannot figure out how to see what it needed for a majority.
The younger generations have taken on an attitude of “entitlement” and believe that they should be supported by the federal government. All of the social ills have been blamed upon the capitalist and anyone who believes in hard work and earning something for themselves.
The party in charge, Democrats are socialists in hiding. They are not liberal, for if they truly were, liberal would be tolerant of different viewpoints. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT. They goal is to dismantle America as a capitalist and free institution and create a society imbedded in poverty and forced to accept the hand that feeds them (the goverment). As long as they get their cell phones and freebies - they are content. If you look at the current administration, their goal is to destroy the American infrastructure to the point of limitations and dependence on others.
Look more closely into our fishing, it is being slowly eroded away to the point we can no longer fish. The catch shares and the reduction in recreational fishing; eventually the only ones that can fish will be the commercial fisherman that have permits. Will they be the winners? NO. They will think that they are, but the government will legislate them enough so that they can never truly turn a profit, they will just make enough to get by and just a little to “think” that they are suceeding in life. But the reality is, they will soon be locked into the same poverty that you and I will be in, with no chance to get out of it.
Just look at Europe. They have become a socialist entity over the past 40 years. They all suffer from the social malaise in that life has become mundane and nobody has the initiative to work. They riot to have the government take care of them! They have become dependent.

I am willing to meet with anyone to discuss ways we CAN win this fight for our freedom to fish and eat safe American seafood. Our fight can help to save America IF enough of us will work together. It is up to us as free people to stand united in defense of the freedom God gave us and so many gave their lives to defend for us. It is up to We the People to manage our public servants and make sure we hire honorable people. Yes, there are politicians who listen to their employers and try to do the right thing.
