Anything Offshore

Okay,

I’m newish to the offshore scene, and really want to learn.

I’m interested in trying bottom fishing, as well as learning trolling for just about anything.

As the season warms up here, and the fishin’ turns on more and more, if anyone is in need of an extra guy and willing to take a “newbie” with them, I’d love to pay my share and learn whatever I can.

My background with these types of fishing is limited. I’ve been trolling for Kings with a buddy twice, I’ve trolled for Tuna once or twice, and bottom fished some. I’ve just never been the guy running the show, having to think about tackle, gear, etc. I’ve always been the friend who had the pole handed to him. Now that I’ve got my own boat, I want to learn all I can to be able to do these kinds of fishing with my family and friends.

My schedule is usually pretty open. My job does take me out of the country, sometimes for more than a week at a time, but if I’m not working, I’m home and I don’t have a “9 to 5” with my job. So, weekdays or weekends . . . . . it’s usually all good.

Thanks.

Well I’ll be in town at the end of the month for a week and my friend and I would love to get out fishing any chance we can. We’ll chip in on gas and bait. I’m from Florida (right where the NFL players disappeared)and I fish offshore here all the time.

I hope this doesn’t come off as desperate or rude, but I thought I would bump this back up again. I’m just looking to learn anything I can, find out about how these types of fishing work, equipment, and so on. I want to be doing this in my boat someday, I just don’t have much of an idea about “how” or “with what.”
