appraisal

Anyone know a good appraiser of classic collectable cameras? I have a Nikon F I’ve owned since the late 60’s, good condition, low serial number, with original Nikon lenses. Actually took a photo with it that made the AP Annual when I was working for them part time in the 70’s. Also have five or six Canon AEIs with various lenses, flashes, motor drives, etc. I’m retired now and on social security with no children to hand them down to. I live in Cross but make trips to Charleston area for doctor visits mainly.

I’ve seen some in antique stores and it seems the prices range dramatically. Unfortunately most who would want them these days are interior decorators trying to spruce up a room. I’ve seen that style Nikon from $10 to $200 depending on condition.

Good luck with that.

I’ll say what my Dad used to say. It is worth what someone will pay for it. I would look for photography clubs or websites catering to photography enthusiasts. Someone who collects for the fact that it is a “collectible” camera and not just a nick nakc would probably pay more.

I appreciate DFreedom’s response but I was simply wondering if there was anyone local who could give an educated appraisal. Again, thanks.
