Left the landing late at 5:30 lines in at SW banks at 7:10. Caught 2 black fin tuna and 1 dolphin in about 160-190 feet! Missed 2 more tuna and 2 wahoo! Pushed out in 550-900 feet and picked up 4 more dolphin and lost 2 more. Dolphin were everywhere under the hooked fish that we kept in the water hoping to drop bait to them and No luck! Ended the day with 5 dolphin and 2 black fin and a good trip for early April! It went better than the last trip for us at least the boat made it back this time! RESPECT THE WATER! #EPIRB# DONT LEAVE WITHOUT IT!
Awesome. Way to get back up on that horse.

Nice job finding the fish! Interesting that you caught some close. Nothing i hate more than running out deep, overshootig the fish, and then finding out later they were in shallow. Also, if you don’t mind me asking, what happened to your other boat? If you posted the story up here already, sorry i forgot.

HullPass, did they ever recover it or figure out what made the hull separate like that?
They never recovered it. They just paid it off. Thx for finding that old post. I didn’t really want to go into detail about that day again lol…

flouro carbon leaders like 30 to 60 help on pitch baits
I remember those guys! They had all the right safety equipment and for that spent only a nominal amount of time in the water and we were happy to assist. Glad to see them back out in the deep again.
that site you dont see everyday
Glad to see you back out there. We still talk about that case in the office. Love the youtube video, we always take the footage, rarely get to see footage from the survivor’s point of view. Stay safe out there!
