April Meet and Fish

Lets start talking about the April Meet and Fish…do y’all want to do another freshwater trip, or head back to the coast?

Also, something to think about - what do you guys think about doing these M&F’s on Saturdays going forward? Just an idea…let’s discuss the pros and cons…thanks!

Saturday’s are ok by me. I only fish salt water tho… Cooper Wando and Folly usually. Would like to meet up with you guys.

It’s almost warm enough for me to join haha

  2. that thing you get just moments after you needed it.

Saturdays work just as well as Sundays for me. If I’m not working, I try to get out and fish. And I much prefer salt over fresh.

I can only make it on Sundays and I would always prefer the salt over fresh.

Either day is fine for me, my problem usually is the whole weekend being booked as I have only made one.

How about cherry point for one as I haven’t gotten any response from my other post on it, so maybe others haven’t been there or the fishing is really good:stuck_out_tongue:

Where is Cherry Point? Beaufort area?

Cherry point is in Rockville above Seabrook

We are going to hit it this Saturday if anyone wants to join us, low tide is at 6 am so we are shooting for 6:30 , little early for this time of year but want check it out at low tide

I think Sunday is good but Saturday could work. Although I’ve only made 1 or 2 haha.
I actually really like the cherry point idea. Mets do it there. It’s at Rockville on the edge of wadmalaw island…

I have always wanted to come, but can’t do Sundays. Saturday would be great if it works out.

Saturdays would be great. I definitely prefer saltwater over fresh. It would be nice to fish the salt in the Charleston area this time since Feb was far away and March was fresh water.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.

Saturdays work for me Sundays are tough with Church and family! Haven’t made one yet, but plan to.

I moved back to the Atlanta area in 82, but Rockville is a part of my heart. Be very careful of the tide pull, my buddy Bob Howard and I saved a guy and girl who were about to go under during the 81 Regatta while swimming to one of the shrimp boats.
Beloved Uncle owned RedHouse Plantation across the marsh from the Boy Scout Camp on Bohicket Creek.

Cherry Point…I’ve never fished there, but the surrounding areas look nice on Google maps…anyone have any fishing experience out there?

My son and I fished it Sunday from 7-1 and it is a nice area, found some trout but no reds. We did more exploring than fishing and the wind got kind of brutal. It is an area we will definitely go back and hit harder.

I only been to 1, but I like Sundays. Sundays are usually a lazy day, and its good to get out. Saturdays I think would be more likely to have other plan conflicts.

Sundays are good for me! Besides, Jesus was a “Fisher of Men”, I’m sure he would be cool with us spending Sunday Morning fishing and enjoy this great Earth!

Any other launch suggestions? If everyone is cool with Cherry Point, then lets call it…whatcha think?

Cherry Point sounds good. I’ll be there.

Which Sunday/date are we thinking now that the location has been decided?
