Black sea bass did not close during the 2013-2014 year as the stock had significantly recovered. The recreational annual quota for the 2013-2014 year was double that of the 2012-2013 fishing year. The vermilion snapper recreational quota increased by about ~120,000 lbs during the same time period. If the annual recreational quota is not being caught, there is justification for increasing the per person and/or trip bag limit.

Exactly! If anything, I thought BSB fishing was better 5 years ago before the closure. I've seen a ton of small ones this year. They are cockroaches of the ocean.

I would rather see the size limit go down than the bag limit go up. Why should only big boats be allowed to keep most of the fish when they are found nearshore as well.
