Are Kings Gonna Be Early

Since we have had a pretty good month so far for warm weather, anyone thing the kings will show up soon. If so do you think by the end of the month or first of May?

Whats the closest you think they will get this ealry on.

Trying to plan a trip to Charleston sometime soon to celebrate finally taking my final and last license test for my PE and want to celebrate with a couple king trips!!

Kings are alreay up in Murrells Inlet/G-town area.

10 were caught 2 days ago in 70’ of water in 2 hours at the inshore hole.

So my guess would be mid April

Thanks coates, i guess you fish out of Murrles inlet mainly, so what is the inshore hole, any luck with “belkie bear”, been there a few with success

so you think mid april they will start showing up pretty good in charleston? or did you mean mid may?

what rigs/bait are you using?

thanks

Inshore hole is a short run of about 22 miles from MI, but only 15 miles offshore.
He caught them pulling drone spoons and planners. Have no idea why he was fishing for them already, but i guess he is smarter than i am???
Have heard of a lot of guys catching them in 150’ of water… so i guess they are already here. I won’t fish for them till i see a steady 68 deg temp… first week in May i am guessing (within 50 miles).

Belky is a great spot, but way to nearshore till probably mid-end May.

I usually pull dead bait… I get to aintsie to shase live bait in the morning.

Any body started fishing for kings yet? Any luck, if so where and what bait?

Kings are thick off of Little River, fished the 390/390 Friday on dead cigars and caught plenty, small though,10-12 lbs.Going to look for cobia this Sat,heard reports of cobia right off the beach.

where is the 390/390

90 ft, cigar minnows, straight off edisto…

STRAY DOG
46 OY
26 EVERGLADES
18 HEWES

390/390 is about 8 miles out of little river jetties, very productive area,50 ft.deep.

anyone got the gps #'s

Sharky,
What type of setup and rig do you need/use for king fishing off the pier? I would really love to fish for king, but am just pulling together my tackle and gear. Suggestions on bait?
