Since we have had a pretty good month so far for warm weather, anyone thing the kings will show up soon. If so do you think by the end of the month or first of May?

Trying to plan a trip to Charleston sometime soon to celebrate finally taking my final and last license test for my PE and want to celebrate with a couple king trips!!
Inshore hole is a short run of about 22 miles from MI, but only 15 miles offshore.
He caught them pulling drone spoons and planners. Have no idea why he was fishing for them already, but i guess he is smarter than i am???
Have heard of a lot of guys catching them in 150’ of water… so i guess they are already here. I won’t fish for them till i see a steady 68 deg temp… first week in May i am guessing (within 50 miles).
Belky is a great spot, but way to nearshore till probably mid-end May.
I usually pull dead bait… I get to aintsie to shase live bait in the morning.
Kings are thick off of Little River,fished the 390/390 Friday on dead cigars and caught plenty,small though,10-12 lbs.Going to look for cobia this Sat,heard reports of cobia right off the beach.
Any more reports? I’m going to start my King season next weekend, hope to find some around the nearshore reef and the jetties, unfortunately I can’t go too far out in my boat. Anybody seen any Spanish?
From the #6 can to the chas60 was loaded with kings this am…lots of spanish on the way back in on both sides of the shipping channel…good pods of bait just outside of dyanmite hole early this am
caught a few more kings and some spanish off folly pier this past weekend.

What type of setup and rig do you need/use for king fishing off the pier? I would really love to fish for king, but am just pulling together my tackle and gear. Suggestions on bait?
