Anybody caught or seen any kings in close yet? I usually don’t do too good till end of Sept thru Nov, but I fish in sight of Kiawah,Seabrook and Edisto beach. Never seems to be much on the king fishing on here. I gotta pick my days for this little 17 seahunt and tommorow looks pretty good, just wondering if I should try the kings or keep getting zeroed out on the tarpon,or stay in Toogodoo and fish for bass in the old leaky duracraft.
I will tell you this weekend, headed down to IOP to chase kings Thurs-Sun, weather/seas permitting
If it is too rough will try for my elusive Charleston Tarpon while consuming a few beers:smiley:

while at MI last week of July caught a 44 inch 3 miles out. only one I saw all week. Did manage some fat Spanish
there will be more than a few people trolling for kings this Saturday in the Charleston area…

We fished all day at the bouy you are talking about last Saturday and didn’t get a bite. The water looked pretty fishy on the incoming tide, but got pretty dirty when it turned. Lots of spanish around.

The seas were’t as good as it sounded on the radio when I left this morning. Easy time catching menhaden right off Deveaux Bank, fished around the Edisto Nearshore reef and out in front of Kiawah but didn’t see any signs of kings yet. Fished a little on the south side of Deveaux bank on the way back and didn’t see any tarpon either.I beleive I’ll stay in the creek in the morning and fish for spottails.
You can’t catch fish on a dry line
We fished Friday and Saturday in the shipping channel and NO LUCK AT ALL
Did not mark much bait Fri but did on Saturday but just never did seem to find the kings.
Oh well better than being at work those two days:smiley:

Went out Sunday. Water was very sloppy. Hit the 60 and picked up 1 Baracuda and the weather pushed us in to the shipping channel. Picked up 1 spanish at the 9 marker and had a short strike. That was it for the day.
