Around isle of palms

Me and my dad are down until Friday and brought our little 14 ft skiff and are keeping it at the isle of palms marina and were wondering if anyone had any advice for places to try or what to use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

old saying. match the hatch. use a cast net to catch whats swimming in the creek and cut it up or fish it live on the bottom!

I realized about a hour into the drive on the way down that my cast net was still in my bass boat from catching bait from striper fishing so I forgot it. We are planning to head out in the morning but still have to decide where we picked up 2 dozen mud minnows earlier to try

I sent you a PM.

I would get more than just one type of bait. Get some minnows, shrimp and mullet. Also, always have a good supply of artificls. At low tide find you a dock with oysters all around it. At high tide find points with oyster beds and cast around them and around the grass. If you see big oyster beds at low tide that will be submerged at high, remember or mark those spots on gps and come back. If you have a trolling motor crusing the grass line with a cork & bait or a spook at high tide can be very productive. Any of the inlets up that way have sharks, big reds and possiblly a tarpon along with many other fish.

Go to Haddrels on Coleman Blvd. They got all the live bait/rigs/artificials you need to fish around here (live shrimp is 50/50). Do exactly what jimmy said. Hit those oyster banks around low tide, you’ll pull in some fish.

Gray Bay and Hamlin sound are almost entirely oyster banks. A short ride to the back side of Goat Island from IOP marina.

Thanks for all of the replies. We are going to try to get out tomorrow and try some places.
