Thanks Jane for throwing us a bone and letting us harvest one ars each! @ $4.50 a gallon thease my be the cheapest fillets we have harvested this year. took 30 min to limit out on ARS and another few to finish our gag limit. took 11 nice flounder to round out our bag after quickley tireing of feeding the rare and endangred 3/4lb bsb’s which swallowed up a few dozen pins as fast as we could send them down!
water was great today and the last TD wiped out the thermocline and left us with 70deg top to bottom and about 40’ viz.this crew are all rather large fellows and this next pic will put the quality in a better light!
had a great day aboard the no limit, as always with great crew with breakfast provided by jordan( had to work at the last min but still met us at the dock with egg and bacon wraps) craig filled in at the last min bagging the largest grouper of the day, along with tim and abby!
I just knew you all would have a good day once I got burned by a back up on call rotation for work. I can only pray that the weather is nice next weekend so I can go out and get my first red snapper (that is the next weekend they are open right?). Did you all take any dive pictures or video you need me to edit and post?
nice meeting some of my heros Iv’e read about for years brianh, shame they can’t shoot a rifle like they shoot spearguns! or does s4g do all the underwater shots? looking fwd to another get togeather. mike all the flounder were gigged in 100’. cant wait to get out again this weekend for the last leg of the ars roundup. wish I had read they were looking for the heads, we took them to a chinese res and swaped for some dinner! Yum!lots of sushi in them bones.

Too bad about work, but thanks for the awesome wraps!!!
I took two GoPro videos, about 30-35 min each. 2.9 gig and 2.7 gig, so too big for e-mail… I’ll find another way to get them to you.
First dive was just on a tug, and the usual founder gigging with spear guns. Good team work with Craig and I, but we eventually got tired of sticking the flatties & surfaced. There WAS a massive ARS that was spooked from the start. Saw him through the portholes, but I could never get a clean shot. After a few minutes of “hide and seek”, he disappeared… probably got bored and swam out over the sand.
The second video is quite a bit better. 4 LARGE Gags and one monster ARS! Stabbed a few Lionfish, just because they deserve it!!! Had a really agressive (and large) trigger messing with me after shooting an ARS, and had to give him a few pokes to keep his distance. We DID loose a big Gag (and the stringer/lift bag) on this dive as well. Could have been lost in the current, or possibly to a shark. Anyway, was a bit dissapointing to loose the fish AND the hardware.
I’ll post up a few “shapshots” from the videos… to get things rolling…
Edited: After watching the 2nd video, we (Craig and I) might be a bit confused about the number of fish we sent up. Not sure if we lost a fish (and hardware) or just lost count!

PS: If a fly lost it’s wings, would it be called a walk?

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
Chunky Dunk has been catching hell since last night. Not much of an end in sight.
I have a video… not sure if I will post it. Depends on how he handles himself.
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
