Artificials in the Cooper

I usually stop fishing much saltwater this time of year or when it gets to cool to catch my own bait. My Dad and I gave the cooper a shot with Artificials on Tuesday.

Fished just like I do bass fishing, varying retrieves of grubs and plugs with a few hang ups in between. We ended up with a decent 1/2 day with the artificials. Caught a great Red and 1 keep trout on grubs. Also caught a few keeper & one Nice Trout on my favorite Topwater. Once it hit about 75 degrees out, we decided to call it a day. Kept 4 for dinner, ended up being more enough for the Family & the Grand Parents. Learned a little bit too! Ready for this Cooler weather to roll in, going to try new water on Sat.

Quick Question? I prefer the outgoing and 1st coupleft hours of the incoming for Bass fishing in the Cooper. What tide do ya’ll prefer in the Cooper & or Wando for Trout & or Reds?
Thanks ya’ll

Nice! I prefer the same tides as you anywhere I fish.

Nice report. I enjoy fishing the cooper and usually try to fish an outgoing tide. I try keep moving with the tide and work from yellow house back to the landing. A few of creeks hold some fat largemouths and stripers.

Love it!

Fished on Saturday, found out that ProCure made a difference for the Redfish, not for the Trout. Actually had a trout pick up a MinnowZ just sitting on the bottom when I wasn’t paying attention. The bite was AWESOME on Saturday, even with the wind.
