To accommodate my son’s and nephew’s allergies to early morning, we hit the water at around 4:30 PM and had a very nice pick. We had our 15 fish limit by 7:15 with several fish 26-30 inches. The 2 dinks were caught reeling up, but the rest were good solid legits.
Forgot to mention that I hand lined in one of Robert’s fish that got tangled in the troller with about 50 feet of line out. Ended up being a 22 incher. Also, on Zach’s last fish, he yanked the hook out in his exuberance. I stabbed the net at the loose fish, and we put the 27 incher in the boat! Fun times!
Fog, when I saw you were fishing in the evening, I almost called to see if you had room for me. Seeing the pictures, I wish I had called!! Nice bunch of fish!
I still have a friend or two who would like to go with us when their schedules and yours permit. They both have young kids, so they can’t always just go fish like we can. Save a couple of big fish for me to wind up.
You are certainly welcome to do that sometime. You could come straight from work, and I could pick you up at the Dam or Jakes. I don’t know if I’ll do another evening trip until after the 19th. Heading to the beach this Saturday.
