Are there any good places on the Ashley River to exit, if you put in at the Summerville boat ramp (the one behind Big Lots on Dorchester)?
And how long does it typically take if you are taking your time and fishing?
Thanks!

I’m not aware of any public landings until you get down to Leeds Avenue. That’s probably 16 or more river miles.
There’s got to be something I overlooked.

You could fish for bass, bream, small rockfish on the way up to Bacons bridge (might have to go over a log or 2)… or go down to Kings Grant landing (I haven’t been there in years, so check out the landing first).
I’ve fished that area a lot and I found riding the tide up and back makes for a scenic trip. When it comes to fishing the upper Ashley, the most consistant bit your going to find is cats. If you’re into gigging, there is a great frog population.
