was out on ashley before crack of dawn this morning scouting for a new fishin hole.im tired of the traffic on the stono.i found a nice creek opening, dont know the name of the creek.it runs behind the jail at leeds eventually.also found a couple of flats that look promising.while i was out i caught 2 nice trout on doa paddletail(rootbeer/chartreuse) along a set of docks by the bridge.by then the sunday boaters were getting in full force and i got the heck out of dodge.
ps i dont know why some dont think the fishing is good in the ashley.looks promising to me.plus this is minutes from work and the house.i can sneak in more fishin.

Yellow Heritage Marquessa hopes to be there Sunday. We met before at Shem Creek last year about this time at a meeting for kayak fishermen interested in forming a club.
right i remember you now.i just got back from 2 hours in the river.1 flounder 15 inches and 1 27 inch spottail.both caught on doa rootbeer/chartreuse paddletail.river is less than 10 minutes from my place, and even closer to work,so im tryin to learn the spots.i can sneak in more fishin this way.didnt find the trout today though.was kind of dissapointed.the spottail put up a heck of a fight on light tackle/10lb test.caught 50 yards from the 526 bridge,in fact the flounder was just a bit farther down.maybe we can hook up sunday.ill look for the marquesa.

Yes I’m on Northeast end of Sol Legare on tidal creek. I can’t get out from my dock an hour or so on either side of dead low- but I just go up the street to my neighbor’s then. I’m about 1 mi upstream from Crosby’s.
I’ll be there late Thurs through Monday this week- let me know if you want to head this way. To fish Folly River, I throw yaks in back of pick-up and drive 2 mi. instead of paddling all the way. Also can throw yaks in boat and go out toward Morris Island. I’ve paddled to MI in past but it’s 4.5 miles as the dolphin swims- much shorter as the crow flies.
You’re welcome to launch from there anytime- just check tide table for Folly Creek/171 which is at Crosby’s.
Stickman,
Is the fishing any good on the back side of Morris Island? I’m also coming down on Thursday late and staying until Monday. Live right across from the City Marina on Lockwood Av.
