I’m wanting to fish the Ashley River. Is this river worth fishing? Thanks for any help, because I want to keep my boat at the marina.
It’s not as popular because you have to fish the main river as there aren’t really any feeder creeks. Does it hold fish, you bet.

Here is a good map of some of the places to fish the ashley.
Thanks friogatto, but your map didn’t come through
I posted a link to the other thread which if you scroll down has a map posted by the people who performed the pollution survey.
Read about our water quality and look where they caught the fish.
I get your sense of humor friogatto, thought it was pretty funny. Hey,post a report if you go this weekend,I know we fish some of the same areas and I’m going to try to get out there next week.Tia
Fished Edisto Saturday high tide. 40+ fish. Mix of reds, small trout, a few flounder, and a ladyfish.
Then ran to Cooper to fish evening low tide. Pulled close to 30 more fish, mostly small reds and a bunch of Largemouth bass.
Highlights were sight casting 4 overslot reds off a little flat.
Guide released what we can only guess was a 24" tarpon.
And my friend catching his first bluecrab and him spending 5 minutes fighting it off his hook trying not to loose a finger. He also caught his first redfish which happened to be tagged.
All fish released.
Water temp has dropped to upper 70’s.
Fish are biting trying to get fat for winter.
Back to the Ashley…
What I am saying is if you need a place to start fishing the Ashley, all those dots on the map are an excellent place to start.
hint hint, I have caught fish at almost every one of those dots. Some of them are in well known community holes. Others are a great hint of what to look for. All those spots are well worth the time to check out.
Some of those spots are very tide specific so go back and try again.
Further… Sorry to anyone who fishes those spots. Dont blame me, I didnt post the map.
