Just heard on the VHF radio from vessel “Homeward Bound” a 20 ish foot CC hit the southern dayboard entering the Wappoo cut, breaking it off. Supposedly nobody is injured, but I have a hard time believing a fiberglass boat can sever a tree without injury or damage. Might be interesting at Firehouse or Wappoo landing in a while.
A 20ft boat would have to hit that pole dead center to shear it off. Hope everyone is OK.

Sorry to be a nincompoop…but what is a dayboard?
The correct term is Daymark! http://www.boatingbasicsonline.com/content/general/6_3.php
PS: 13skulls, don’t mean to step on you, just trying to help him understand and maybe take a boaters safety course!
Daymark may be the new correct term, but when I was a USCG crewman/coxswain we called them dayboards. Maybe its just a Coasie name. Thanks for the correction.
I have never heard of the term “dayboard”. Day Marker is the correct terminology.
Nothing but a “SMART-ELLIC”!
Okay, Okay daymark, dayboard, just don’t hit the dang things with your boat. Ouch!
