Operation River Sweep is taking place Saturday September 15th. There will be a group of volunteers meeting at Riverbanks Zoo to clear as much litter from the Saluda as possible. The more people that show up to help, the broader the effort will be. If enough people show there will be groups at both the Shandon Rapids and the Millrace Rapids. Garbage bags will be provided.
Anyone that fishes the Lower Saluda knows the beating that the river is taking from the trash that hangs out on the rocks all year long. The crowds continue to grow and so does the litter problem.
This is your chance to help. 3 or 4 hours of your time will make a big difference for the Saluda.
If you would like to help out be at the far right hand side (Upstream side) of the zoo parking lot at 8:45 AM on Saturday the 15th.
See you there.
