Aull for Naut. 5/20

Left Folly @ 6am heading towards EB. Lost one trim tab about 20 miles shy of EB, wind was supposed to pick up in pm so Decided to stop @ 100’ and try it there. Picked up 3 Kings all on Bleading Dolphin and put 2 Dolphin in the boat. The largest of the Dolhin, which made the trip, was caught on the WTFB line on a Blue and white Islander. Pulled the hook on two other Dolphin. Pulled it in @ 2:30 and beat like hell on the way back in…Trim tabs make a HUGE Difference. Looks like everyone had a great day, congrats to all.

Sounded like you made the most of your opportunity w/ your trim tab situation. How big was the big dolphin? The Local Cluster wimped out and stayed in port. Fished an inshore tourney on Saturday then had family obligations and the forcast was downgraded to 4 footers. Crew decided to wait until next weekend which is a wide open 3 dayer. Have to say I’m still a little jealous of the action you had. Coulda’ been me! How rough was it out there and on the way back in?

Largest Dolphin was a 22 pound bull (weighed by a scale) . We ran 27kts going out and 23kts comming in. Going out was a great ride. Back in was pretty tuff. Hopefully, next weekend will lay down as well. If it does I’ll be there!

OK, now I’m bumming. All I ask is for at least one leg of the trip is comfortable. You got that on the way out and you made good time coming in, even it was rough. That’s a nice dolphin, good work!
