Just curious as to the average rate per ft for boat detailing services in your area. Mainly talking about boats in the 18 to 25 ft range. Not sportfish, cruising, or trawler type boats.
Service to include, waterline and running surface stain removal, complete exterior and interior wash, cleaning of all hatches and compartments, waxing of all slick gelcoat surfaces, cleaning and waxing of all metal work, cleaning and waxing of motor cowling. Apply conditioner to all upholstry.
I was just told by someone that $15 per ft was absolulty absurd and should be considered price gouging.
I know for this area that rate is actually on the low side of average.
We charge $10 per foot, includes wash, wax, clean in and out. We do not polish the aluminum or ss for that price, that is on a case by case basis, some boats have a good bit of stuff to polish and some do not.
I don’t think $15 a foot is unreasonable, but it is definitely on the higher side. As long as you do quality work and really clean it for that price. Most people I have had detail my boat in the past would come out and give me an estimate. Reality is some boats require more work than others and some owners are more particular.
That’s exactly what I charge for a “Total Package” which includes everything you had mentioned expect for cabin cleaning. $15/ft would also include clear plastic polishing as well if applicable .
