Avoiding Traffic 5/3

Had to cancel my Saturday trip due to a work conflict, so Sunday, while everyone was fighting over their spot in search of dolphin a few of us aboard the “It’ll Do” decided to take advantage of the first weekend of grouper season. A question was had over the lack of a bottom machine, but bugcatcher said the numbers are solid…let’s go. Calm ride out around 7:30-8 after avoiding morning rush hour.

A few dives later with 50-60’ vis and 66-68 degree water later and we had success. 4 divers= 4 gags, 3 spinys, a mess of slippers, and a mixed bag of triggers, b-liners, and bsbs. Cruised in at 45 the whole way and never spilled my margarita. Not a bad start to the year, knocking some rust off with a great bunch of guys and groceries to boot. Bring it on 2015!

I think I heard “bug catcher” on the radio a few times while we were out. We bottom fished around 100 feet. We never found any big grouper but seemed to catch everything else. With 900 hp I know that wasnt a long ride out on Sunday! Looks like you had a great trip.
