Promised to take our son and his fiance fishing this week, they live in Awendaw, and all my fishing is done here in Beaufort. So, hauling the skiff up their way. The closest ramp looks to be at the end of Chandler Rd off of US17 to access the upper Wando. (South of Sewee restaurant) GE at that part of the Wando looks promising with a lot of feeders, but ESRI app map show a lot of very shallow water.
Any tips on fishing (where and what) the upper Wando around that ramp and the ramp itself would be greatly appreciated (is it safe to leave truck there, water depth, etc). Promise not to encroach on your all’s spots, as will be there for 2 days then headed back to home in Beaufort.
Many thanks - john
Chandler Rd/Paradise Island launch is busy and while there are occasionally undesirables around, DNR is there enough to keep it safe. Watch the left side off the launch at low tide. If you head south down the Wando, fish docks and creeks at lower tides and hit up a deeper creek as the water rises. I have good luck along Deep Creek when the water is moving for reds/trout. You can find it along the west bank @ 1.5 miles down from the launch as well as on google earth.
I agree with Friars14. The paradise island landing is a great landing at high tide, but at low tide it can be a little difficult for larger boats. So if you are going to put in there then go at high tide. Yes it is safe to keep your truck there. Hope this helps.

You will have no problems at paradise with your Towee. Good fishing in both directions from the launch. Never seen much in the way of “undesirables”, and the ramp was redone about a year or so ago.
Garris/Moores Landing can be a great area on the ICW and south side of Bulls Bay. Lots of shallow water, but that Towee can handle it!

Thank you guys - know beaufort well but never fished your way - Awendaw looks like an awesome place, so glad my son moved out of downtown, ever try to drive an F250 crew cab in Chs - so if you see an F250 with a little Towee skipping along behind at week end- that be us - thanks again for the tips - john
btw - assume fishing patterns/baits/rigs same there as here and hope to post a good report.

Garris Landing is pretty good place to launch out of, though try to hit it at high tide if you wanna avoid the mud
