Finally, after reading all the posting, I got out this morning to catch the incoming tide. I guess I started too early. Had to pull my kayak through the feeder and wait until the tide came in. Almost wasted 2 hours. Once I was able to get where I wanted to be, I used some cut up finger mullet on #4 circle hooks and let that sit on the bottom. Caught my first red within five minutes. Nice 23 incher. He really put up a good fight. If I was not anchored, he would have given me a good tow and then I would have lost him the the oysters. Once I got him along side, I quickly placed him on a stringer and rebaited. Tossed the bait near the same location and landed another 23 inch red. They could have been brothers. He too put on an awesome struggle and after playing tug-a-war with me, I had him along side and quickly on the stringer. After that and with a big smile, I turned the yak for a return paddle back to the launch. I’m sure I was in a good school, although I could not see their wakes. The water was very clear and there was very little wind. Awesome conditions. I saw I skiff in the distance, but couldn’t tell if they were catching anything. There was no mistake I had fish on. God I love this stuff. SC you rock. I requested (2) ram tube rod holders for Christmas and they sure will help me organize my boat. Also, need to plug up the holes in the bottom of my tarpon to keep it dryer. I think I’ll add one of those squeegee (sp?) sponges for mopping up any water that comes in from other sources. Other than that, hope some of you guys made it out and have some left over for the skillet. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. v/r tf
