Don’t know how many of yall have seen this but it’s pretty cool
That is pretty awesome…thanks for posting it. This brought back memories of the 40 foot seas I had the joy of experiencing in the North Atlantic on a U.S. Navy Destroyer back in the mid '80’s. We used to strap 55 gallon drums on the bridge so watchstanders could get up from their station, puke in the barrel, and get back to work. The ocean is an amazingly powerful beast and those who don’t respect that, do so at their own risk.

screw that. I’d be in the fetal position in the corner somewhere.

that navy ship taking that wave at the 3:30 mark is incredible! Think its real?
Could you imagine having to take a crap on that boat?

Fishman,
I spent 23 years in the Navy, and I can guarantee it’s real. Although we tried to avoid seas like that if at all possible, sometimes it was imperative that your ship reached a certain place at a certain time, and there were many times we had to ride in those conditions in order to get where we were going on time.

The BM itself wouldn’t be as rough as the paperwork that follows…[:0]

that’s really impressive that any boat can deal with those conditions

Big ships in seas like that I would be more concerned about it splitting in half. Almost half that Navy ship was out of the water. Yikes…
Was a scalloper out of Mass for 20+ yrs.Been there, done it,worked in it.Boat worked 24/7 for 2 weeks. If it was too rough to work,it was truly bad out.“There’s green water on deck boys,i’ve got her in the corner”.
