Wow, it appears that my idea of having a get together during the weekend of November 5 for a unofficial Yak fishing tourney is coming together. On two other forums, I have received interest from about 5 or 6 fishermen, with several saying they might bring more down.
So, thought I would let everyone here know what was happening, and invite you all down to Beaufort for the event, it coincides witht he Paddlefest 2005 being sponsored by the local kayak and other merchants. Will have races and demos too.
If interested, let me know, so I can try to anticipate how many will actually show up. The idea is to have an after unofficial tourney Low Country Boil get together to lie and tell fish stories!
Actually the contest will be for all waters within 50 mile radius, with the exception of Parris Island 3rd Bn pond. Others are planning on staying at Hunting Island, so you won’t be alone.
Well, It’s now OFFICIAL. Paddlefest 2005 has taken us under their wing, and incorporated our tournament into their days festivities. With this comes some bennies, mainly T-Shirts, and FREE lunch and a Raffle prior to the awards ceremony.
Of course, since it is OFFICIAL now, there will be a entry fee to cover the cost of the T-Shirts, Insurance and the tools to judge the winners. (Disposeable Cameras, Measuring boards and Developeing)
Hopefully it will be an Extreme-Edge Fishing Regional Tourney too, and will have some prizes for the winners.
I am going to keep the entry fee as minimal as possible…
Hope some of you all will come and be a part of the festivities.
Questions:
-when do we have to sign up by? Where and how(mail?)
-how much is entry fee?
-what species? aggregate weight?
-what time does tourney start?
-when and where is weigh in?
