Hi guys, long time reader and first time poster here. I was waiting for my minnow trap to fill up in a tidal creek and decided to do a little fishing with my freshwater panfish setup to see if I could catch some micro-fish. I ended up finding a little school of probably 6-10" fish and landed two of them on a little 1/16 oz jig head with a 2" jerk bait. I figured they were little bluefish the way they were going nuts over my bait, but when I landed the first one I realized they seemed to be tiny little tarpon. I put a picture below because I would love some confirmation on this as I’ve never caught one before. They were 6" and 8" roughly. Fun little fight on the ultralight setup!
That is most definitely a tarpon. I bet that was a blast!

Wow, breeding or spawning Tarpon in the Ashley? That’s exciting!
