Bachelorette party boat for hire

I was asked by a friend to take 6 girls out on a harbor booze cruise as part of a bachelorette weekend. They offered to pay me and whatnot. I’d like to do it but I may have some other obligations that weekend with some company coming into town (June 27th). Anyone of you charter captains like having fun and maybe have a the 27th available for simply a harbor cruise for a couple hours after your charters are done at a decent rate? Preferably a legit business or at least that has insurance because I can’t really recommend six drinking girls go out on a non insured vessel I don’t really know. Size of boat probably isn’t important, something that can take six girls comfortably and probably has a sound system.

Knowing Fritz, he’d probably do it for free!

My friend’s boat is a 26ft Proline with high gunnels, large cushions on the bow, sits 2-3 on the front cooler seat, 2 on the back rumble seat.

…and I can run the gopro’s

Hey Millacd. I am a licensed captain with a 25 seafox (2014). Cushioned seats throughout with a port-o-let and a great stereo. PM sent.

Hmmm, probably need something that will hold a vertical pole.

Pretty sure there won’t be a shortage of vertical pole holders, DF.

Thanks for the responses. If anyone has the boat/time available, just pm me the info and I’ll give the options to them to see which works best for them. much appreciated

Makes me wish i had a boat close

Just a FYI, if you accept any money to do a trip like that, you are now operating a vessel for hire and must have a CG Operator license, commercial type safety equipment and a good liability insurance policy. If someone were to get hurt, you would be in very deep trouble without those.

Yet another reason why I’m not. I’m aware of the some of the regulations above. As an aside, Splitting gas money on fishing trips is kosher though, right? Something about how cost splitting is fine as long as going on the trip is not conditional on payment.

That is correct, but it can be a fine line if it ever goes to court. Splitting actual expenses between friends on a voluntary only basis is legal. Telling people ahead of time that it will cost them $XX each to go on your boat is not. It won’t ever be a problem, until someone gets hurt and things end up in court. Remember too that it probably won’t be your friend who sues you, it will be his health insurance company or his wife’s liability lawyer.

A free ride with Fritz isn’t worth the cost of admission!!:sunglasses:

I’m booked that day. Very limited availability this month.

Captain Cracker Larry is correct. Anything over an equal share of actual cost and you are a charter. That’s why I have the CG Lic, DNR permit, NMFS permits, and charter insurance, and why I responded to your inquiry.

Taking 6 drunken young women out on a booze cruise didn’t have anything to do with it either  That’s his story and he’s sticking to it

Seriously though, that is a job for a professional with the qualifications. Nothing could possibly go wrong with 6 drunk women on the boat.

Actually for the money and exposure, no pun intended Larry. I’m a new charter guy with lots of boating experience and hope tours can be a part of my business. But the exposure would be nice too. I’m a southern gentleman, not that it means a whole lot.
