So a lot of our water ways have fresh water that runs to them. This can change the temperature and salinity. Ive heard that these lower salinity waters can attract and hold fish. I decided to do a bait check, this was in a brackish creek pocket at low tide. The water was very salty considering the bream and crappie, but they could of followed the tide down and not stay there at high tide. I did not fish the backwaters or close to them. We cruised the stono instead and lunched on a island and let bait soak. Top of the tide no action but crabs. In general there are still a decent amount of mullet around and plenty of minnows. The tiny ghost shrimp are starting to show alot around rocks and oysters and the crabs are still crawling. In a few weeks ill do another bait report.
Mud minnows, killfish, threadfin, bream, crappie and mullet all in a 3ft radius.

Over sized bubbler creates enough flow to keep baits like threadfins and mullets alive. I over loaded the bucket but you just do a water exchange every couple hours and your bait stays fresh. The mud minnows were extra wiggly.
also find that if you set your bait in a bucket for a few minutes after catching them and let them settle down and then change the water they keep better.
