Had a great week in Alabama! Never went over 12 mi or over 90’. We caught about everything that swims from tinker mackrel to gater trout. Hated to return so many nice red snappers, caught some under gas rigs in 32’ water caught pogies in the surf and sardiens of the rigs . A 11 year old with us hooked and brought to the boat an 8’ sharpnose faught for over an hour on a 325 gti with 40# and 80# leader while fishing for kings along with big amberjacks with no worms and bright red meat!
Sounds like a fun trip. Always wanted to fish that coast. Atlantic sharpnose (same species that’s in the Gulf) IGFA record is 16 pounds, so I’m assuming you’re referring to something else. Wish we had worm free aj’s here.
