Been in crunch time for a large project for the day job and fishing was not even in the question for the past 6 weeks. Well, If I had to pick a month to miss, I’d pick March so… Anyway, finally got done and a much needed day of fishing with BOSN. Honestly didn’t care how we did. Catching was tough, however. Ended up with 3 flounder and two trout. One of the trout was a good one though! Mistook it for a slot red right until it got boatside and we both went [:0]
I follow a voluntary upper slot for trout of 20". Most get released anyway but > 20 is automatic. Handled her as carefully as possible and sent her on her way.
TexasEye 3/16 oz / Z-Man scented jerk shadz (smoky shad) has been an awesome big trout lure for us.
Well done sir! I was out for 4 hours yesterday, didn’t have as great of a day as you, but didn’t get skunked either! In fact, we passed each other again as you were leaving out of that big creek headed back into the Wando river LOL… you can’t hide from me Opt haha
A friend shared with me why the catching was so bad on Sunday… Worm hatch. I completely forgot about it.
No wonder we didn’t get a sniff from a redfish, nor many trout…
