back up plan,6/14

rode out early on plane at 35k, speed limited only by the size of your nads, awsome ride. trolled from 6 till noon only 2 mahi, a few misses and knockdowns . one smoker and the line got cut above the leaders. thanks to augie dog for talking me into taking the bottom gear, stopped in 90’ on the way back & harvisted 4 good limits of beeliners and a few other bottom fish in a short time. Had a great day , only down side was being cornholed by the Bull Run out ot Mt.P at 50ft. while we were hooked up on bottom fish. Just goes to show class has nothing to do with the cost of your rig!

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

Congrats on the bottom dwellers Capt. Ed

Bug I was aboard the Bull Run as a passenger, and I don’t remember seeing any boats near us until the end of the day when someone crossed about 15 ft from our stern. The Cpt on Bull Run seems like a class guy and I don’t think he would’ve have intentionally run up on you.

You gonna talk or FISH!

congrats on the bottom dwellers, better get you fishing in I’m coming home friday. Maybe we can hook up and tear them up between the two boats. That is if the weather holds out. Tell shellcracker to get ready.

trying to fish, im sure as a passenger it was not your call, but you can be assured it was intentional, we thought the capt was going to hail us because he came rite to us. we watched him on the bridge as he pulled up 50’ behind us. the boat that came by you at 15’ was us, we were trying to get back on our drift line. the spot we were fishing was only about 50 yd. wide. if you think the capt didn’t see a 24ft cc with twin 200hp drift fishing on a day you could have water skied, i would find someone a little safer to fish with! nothing against you,we will remember the capts courtesy next time we are on the same weed line.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

adabean, got to drag the boys boat back to Jacksonville thur, then be in Naples the weekend for a wedding, be back Sun. eve. Took shellcracker yesterday & all he did was ***** about using my out riggers and down riggers (they cut his ass)you know he wants the fish to do all the work, sometimes there is techinque in setting the hook (dropping back, pumping)cant put the beer down i guess. all that negativity gets to me after a few hrs. I think hes use to that sailfish that dosen"t miss any, better hurry the dragging season is almost over for the mosquito fleet at 130 gal. per trip @$3.85 & only a few mahi for the effort.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

Bug as you said it certainly was not my call and I was looking aft as we were preping our jigs. I will call him and ask about it this week and email you if it’s worth your time. Again obviously not my call but I’ll appologize on his and the group’s behalf.

You gonna talk or FISH!

I sure don’t remember the last time we caught all the fish we hooked. That would be catching not fishing. I’m glad he doesn’t just xxxxx on my boat. Have a good time in Florida. That is going to be an expensive trip pulling the boat and all. Hopefully I’ll be home for three weeks maybe we can get together during that time.

Trying 2 fish, Im really not that worried about it, although Im very respectfull of other boaters out there I would expect a little more courtsey out of a skipper who’s liveliehood depends on his rep. That area is about 10sq miles of live bottom and a short scan around the area would reveal the reason there is no reason to fish that close to another boater with lines in the water. I normally would’t even post about it as we cross his kind out there from time to time, just usually not professional capt’s! No hard feelings, feel free to hail us anytime we are more likley to help you get on fish if just treated with a little courtsey, Ed, Blue Mule Trucking.
