My wife is expecting and she isn’t suppose to eat red meat. She had to put hers in the microwave. It kills her because she likes meat rarer than I do, and it kills me to over cook venison. So she will be microwaving hers for the next 8 weeks or so!

That’s the only way to eat grilled V.

Woodfloats?

Is that Montreal your using? Another good way is to sear it for about 2 minutes on each side on the iron skillet and then put in the oven for about 20 minutes or so on about 325. This way you get a sort of crunchy outside and med. rare middle.

I do use Montreal, but this was Chicago Steak. You can buy a large pepper grinder full of it at Sams for like $4.00. Its tasty and you can set the grinder from coarse to fine. I love it! The meat was marinaded in Soy, Worchestire, Teriyaki, Thai Chili, garlic, and little brown sugar for about 5 hours. Then I coated the outside with fresh ground black pepper (course) and Chicago Steak (course). Place over hot coals for 10-15 minutes.

Give this a try sometimes. Incredibly easy and really good with venison.

Beautiful plate - tomato pie… care to share how to make it?

Not sure how dmatheny does it but it looks the same way I do it. Mine is pie crust filled with mayo, sour cream, cheese and fresh maters. A heartburn special.

Not sure of the exact measurements.

My wife made it, but this is close. Pie crust, mayo, Roma tomatoes, pepper, cheese, garlic. I think that is about it. I don’t think she puts sour cream in it, but it wouldn’t hurt it for sure. It is delicious!

I will be trying it soon - never heard of it but it sure looks tempting

I sure do love some tomato pie. Looks great.

Send lawyers, guns, and money - The poop has hit the fan.

Update on tomato pie…
pie crust lined with shredded cheese, Roma tomatoes, sauteed onions, another layer of Roma tomatoes, basil and oregano, mix of mayo and shredded cheese, and top with tomato for presentation. Bake at 350 for a hour. Enjoy!!!
