Anyone had any experience with an aftermarket version of a rearview camera? If so which brand do you recommend and why? Do you find it to be an aid while towing/backing?
I have one factory built into my F-150. The screen shows up in the rear view mirror, you can’t see it unless you’re in reverse. I think it’s great for hitching to the trailer, it’s so easy to back right up and be perfectly aligned every time. It has almost 180 degree view so it makes backing out of blind spaces much easier too.

Haven’t tried them either, but Sams Club in Columbia has them with a BIG screen for cheap. I would also be interested in hearing any reviews.
Many folks with RVs use aftermarket cameras for backing up to their RV’s. Its a little hard to get them to move an inch or two unlike alot of boats.
Fishing on the bottom is like having sex with the lights turned off. It feels good… but I wanna see it.

I have driven a few trucks with the ones that mount on the visor too. They do not cost much and I think you can get them just about any where. Takes a little getting use to but once you do, you can put the ball right where you want it first time.
I went to Sams and didn’t see them anywhere…I definately need one on the F-350…I am sick of jumping out and checking distance.

I’d like to find the 7" monitor that was referenced. Anyone with make and model number, price, source?
I have an in dash Alpine that has a rear view camera…love it. It comes on when you go into reverse and you can also look at it riding down the road…pretty sweet.
If at first you don’t succeed, drink another beer!!!

Have a small 5" screen one I mounted on the back of my RV and love it! Way better then getting out to look. Makes all the difference in the world hooking up boat to it and towing it, can see whole boat and trailor on screen. Was only about $50 at Dicks type sporting goods store. It’s wireless but still needs 12v at camera and screen.
