Bad choice

Decided to ride the bike to Greenville this week. Kind of thought the rain was going to be mostly hit and miss. Wrong answer.

My 35-year-old leather has shrunk around the middle somehow. So I broke down & bought a new leather last fall.

It took me forever to find an American made leather. Most of the letters you find are made in Pakistan or some other far away land. Yeah they’re only around 200 bucks but you can look at the stitching and feel the thickness & tell that crap.
They must get their cowhides from Ethiopia.

Just be careful on Mexican leather. A lot of it is tanned with urea. Get it wet and it smells like pizz.

I think my worst ride was coming back from Detroit lakes. Got to Fargo and from there to grand forks temp dropped to the 30’s light rain and sleet. Jeans and a light jacket I had a halve fairing and my buddy had none. We would swap bikes every 20 miles. Probably the coldest ride ever.

Sorry, telling OTC to be careful don’t work…LOL

About the Mexican leather is hilarious. I would be pizzed haha get it. One thing to be called a smelly biker. For it to be true and smell like pizz not so good. I found a nice American leather by Schott. Very thick leather with a zip out liner. Wife has a leather made from Buffalo hide. Has held up very well. Soft as a baby’s butt still. About 30 years old. Hers has seemed to shrink a little around the belly also but not as bad as mine. She would be pizzed if she knew I said that

Something to stay clear of on a motorcycle and even a car.

This is one of the reasons I don’t eat much chicken. Quite a few of them birds are dead. I can imagine what it’s like in the summertime. The second reason being. Growing up had plucked hundreds of chickens. I smell chicken cooking. It brings back the smell of plucking chickens. Nothing nice…

For the time it took the light to change. I could see several dead birds. Temperature in the upper 50s.Just imagine the mortality rate when it’s in the 90s° . You know them birds go on the processing line. They ain’t throwing them out.
As I said I don’t eat much yardbird…

My wife’s grandfather owned a chicken processing plant in Saluda through the early 80s. Their dead chickens didn’t get processed; went straight to the pile of blood and guts to get turned into fertilizer or fish food or something of the sort. But you’re right, these days, I’m sure people are looking at profit over doing the right thing. “Most” people don’t care to know where their food comes from.

On a side note, one time in Japan, I watched the sushi chef pull a fresh snapper type species out of a cooler and then proceed to pummel it with a bat when it started to flop on the cutting table. True story. I doubt I’ve ever had fresher sushi.
