Wow! That looks rough. Glad you made it back safely! Awesome lighting on the boat…that’s hot!

I know it’s none of my biznus but just to “releave” me from “stressing” over your bad luck, tell us you had insurance.

Wow!

Glad yall made it in safe!

This may be a dumb question but when did you realize the bracket let go? Guess you heard a snap?

Awesome boat BTW

JKI, I have never seen anything like that. Thank god you were 25 and not 60 miles out. Lucky eaah. Anyway congrats on getting back. Ohhh if you don’t mind letting us know who was the bracket outsourced to and what made it to snap, would be greatly appreciated.

The perils of building your own boat.

Was the top edge bent in a brake or was it cut and welded ?
Looks like if it was welded it was a cold joint.
Hope you get it repaired solid this time. The boat looks great!!

Thanks for all the great comments on the boat. Just wish I had some blood on the deck in a few pics. Yes, I have insurance but wouldn’t put a claim on something like this. I’m being reimbursed for the bracket and doing all the work my self so a $100 powder coating job is all im out.

Redstripe, after seeing whats behind the walls and decks of production boats and whats behind mine, I can guarantee the risk is much less the route I went. I just picked a bad brand of bracket I guess.

Is that how these brackets are normally fabricated? It doesn’t look like there is near enough “meat” to hold 1000lbs and 300 hp of motors bouncing and torqing around.

For some reason the pics don’t come up for me. There is a photobucket box with a note saying we’re doing a little work your image will be back soon. Anybody else see this? If not what is wrong with my computer?

I get the same message in place of the photos. I hated to hear about the problems but would love to see the pictures of the finished boat. Awesome project.
