Bad fuel pump, what do I replace with?

I have a ‘99n Johnson 150hp. I’ve had the VRO unhooked and I’ve been mixin’ for a while. No problems. I got a really high price to replace the pump when I called a place this evening. Can I use another pump without all the VRO crap? Anybody done this?

Being superstitious is bad luck.

I did the same with my 99 johnson 70hp. Been mixing for 4yrs or so with no problems. Use stabil and a canister fuel/water seperator.

you can get a non VRO pump, but it costs almost as much
