key switch on evinrude V6 not working at all. Question, once i crank it with the solenoid, what is the easiest way to shut it down w/o turning fuel shut off valve or unplugging spark plugs. There is a black wire with a yellow stripe on the switch…if memory is correct, that is the “kill” wire. Is that correct and if so, would I touch it to the black ground wire or to the red hot wire on the switch to shut down engine w/o hurting ignition components? 9 wire key switch.
Thanks
Rick
Found the answer on the internet, the black and yellow wire goes to ground to turn off engine
its amazing what out there now days
yes, black wire to ground will shut down engine
pretty unusual for the key switch to fail where everything stops working, but definately not unheard of
