Went middle June last year and stayed in West End for the week. Seas were great both days but just have to watch for storms. Launched from public boat ramp right by Lakeland inlet. All public launches require a pass that can be prepaid for like $35 and mailed. Must get to the ramp early if you want to get a spot though. You can also pay close to $300 and launch from another marina nearby that has a fenced parking lot.
