Bahia Honda...Help

Never fished for Bone’s anywhere other then Andros…next May, 1st week(3rd-10th)…with a full moon on our last day, we will be staying on Bahia Honda. Don’t know much about the area, but would like to learn about it. Would like to target as many different fish as possible, preferably with the long rod, plus we will be in kayaks. From what I understand there seems to be a lot of hard flats around there?, but with a lot of boat traffic?..Help.

Mud

MudRoc,

While Bahia Honda State Park holds fish in my opinion its best to leave the area- lots of sun bathers etc. The small key east of Bahia Honda just over the bridge usaully produces pretty well. (Missouri Key?) Baracuda, bones, permit, sharks etc are all possible. The bones and permit are tough when wading but if you have kayaks it should make it a little easier. Big Pine Key also has numerous backwater groves and flats that can keep you busy with a kayak.
