Bait Binder Question

Bought some to try this year and the label just says add water. Went to thier site and for directions it says to just add water.

What I would like to figure out is how much mix and water would I want to use to make 30-40 golfball sized patties?

I don’t want to waste it or mix it to thin or thick so it will work right.

A one gallon zip lock full makes a batch big enough to put 3 on each pole. Just have to add water a little at a time and keep stirring. You want it thick - like tacky mud. Just remember how much after you get the first batch right.

yea, if this is your first time just be careful about not using too much…you can always add more Bait Binder and mix it up, but when you have been used to making planet-burger sized balls this will be a big difference…sounds like jford has it down pat…good luck and let us know how you do!
also, I like to glaze my balls after I make them…about the size of a lime…slightly flatten them so they don’t roll on the bottom…after you have made all you want, just quickly dip them back in the water and let them dry…now they are set up and ready to go!

Is it roughly a 50/50 water to meal ratio? Also is it better to let them dry out like you would clay or leave them moist?

It’s like making pancakes! Get a bowl or bucket, add the baitbinder, then mix in water a little at a time till you get the consistency you desire. Repeat…but don’t eat!

Bait Binder is good stuff. Takes a lot of the hassle away from shrimp baiting and is cheaper than clay and meal if its used properly

I live in the upstate and we have clay soil can I use that???

You can use flour if you want. Just not self rising flour because your bait balls will float
