I’D HIT DAT!

Last night was the first time I did not use bait binder. The only difference I noticed is not once did I pick up a bait ball with the clay where I would pick up bait binder balls frequently. It made me wonder if my bait dissolved. I didnt make balls but like big hamburger patties. 50/50 mix meal and white clay.

Quantity of shrimp seems to be the same. I was in the same spot as last time as the amount seems to be the same BB vs clay.

well this season is tough to prove it but I have sworn by Bait Binder for the last 3 or 4 years…you just need to get used to making much smaller bait balls…

I dont think it attracts the shrimp any better but its ease of use makes it a no brainer to me.Cleaner & last along time is the reason i use it.Ive used several kinds and on a good day they all work well.

I think I have to agree with you on this one. I was doing as you suggested and made lime sized balls and used lots of them. When the shrimp didnt come in like they should, I stepped it up to baseball sized. Still no difference.

I went to the true value on Folly rd. and bought 5lbs of clay and meal. I dumped them both in a tub, mixed dry, then made my hamburger patties. (my burgers are half-pounders btw) I didnt really find it any harder to mix than using bait binder.

My conclusion from my experiment suggests there are no shrimp.
No super bait is going to bring in what is not there to begin with.

I consistently get a 1/4 cooler full of big ones each time but have yet to hit the mother load. I also 1 pole as I found it too hard for me to run poles with a 22’ boat. I also do not like the 100 forward-reverse shifts on my outboard every night.

Throw the anchors out, turn up the radio, throw bait, drink beer, throw net. Pretty easy on the boat and I burn about 2 gallons of gas all night.

I use cheap canned cat food, of the seafood variety, mixed with dry dog food. That works fine for me. I can get 3-4 small to medium sized patties out of it. I will say, that I go off a dock and not a boat. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
