Bait cutting board

Hey

Was just out at Marine West and saw some bait boards/knife holders that fit into a rod holder. This looks like a pretty good idea, i just was using a cutting board from home on the deck. Has anyone got one or used one, any pros or cons?

thanks a lot

cheers

I use a pc. of starboard cut 12x24" drilled a hole in it and attached a loop of rope and hang it of the back of the helm seat!

I’ve used them for cutting bait (bottom fishing) offshore, and that particular model worked pretty well. Just like anything else, the quality will vary by manufacturer. On a small boat, I prefer to just keep a small cutting board in the cooler to save space.

I have one. I used a magma grill rod holder mount. It was expensive, but I love it. It literally never comes off my boat.

I took one of those cheap-ish cleaning tables from academy and put on the back of my boat and it works great. has a nice cutting board, has “bowls” built in that have drain holes(works good for holding lures when site casting) and also holds a trash bag.

I had the Magma board and rod holder mount. I loved it!! Ended up getting a newer boat that didn’t have rod holders, so I gave it away.

One Simple Thanks!!

5 gallon bucket lids work fine

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

Berlins on Rivers sells used restaurant stuff. I found a big used cutting board for reasonable money there a little while back. Cut it down and made a custom bait station for my boat plus a fish cleaning station.

Those west marine type brands are expensive and never seem to be exactly what I need.

I made one out of a piece of starboard and an aluminum downrigger rod holder mount I bought on here in the classifieds. I think I’ve got $30 in it and it’s always with me on bottom fishing trips.

Got one at Bass Pro but changed the bolts out to SS as the std ones are steel and rusted. Fits in the rod holder

We made a cutting board out of starboard and mounted it on our leaning post around 4 rod holders. Used heat gun to form the corner trim attached by stainless bolts. Put a knife sheath under the knife slot to keep the blade hidden.

Cool ideas, looks like t might be a fun project to make one
