Hey Folks,
I’ve been catching quite a few of these guys in tidal pools and inshore. Are these considered tiger minnows? The blues and Spanish mackerel lawn to love them.
Thanks for the help.

Yep, Tiger Minners.
Cousin to Mud Minners , and an excellent bait!
Killifish
Barb should be along soon
There were a couple tidal pools on the side of the ICW up near Prices where you could get plenty with one cast.
Thanks for the help guys.
Stump - that seems to be one of the only photos that was popping up when I searched tiger minnows. That’s what really made me question what if they were actually tiger minnows or not.
Tight Lines.
barb in the house
striped killifish
Fundulus majalis
males have vertical bars
females have horizontal stripes
it’s called sexual dimorphism, think blue crabs and redbreast
folks up in cherry grove who troll for flatties only use tiger minners, not sure why nobody slow drifts inlets or runs trolling flaps around here
Because all of the Johnny Ohios driving daddy’s boats that have zero respect for anyone else.
Back in the 70s Dad would troll for flounder and trout and tear them up. Im guessing the boat traffic in the water from then until now has gone up 5000%. Hard to get away from anyone on the water these days. It’s the reason I only fish on week days.
That’s funny Johnny Ohio and 50000% percent
I can tell you are kin to Rembert!
We can’t do anything about it now
I still troll
Mainly because my wrist and arm are worn out
We used to tear up the crappie further up your creek in the winter
Might need to get a canoe and a electric motor
I have had the good fortune to run boats in many places around the country and Caribbean and am certain that the boating etiquette in the Lowcountry is the worst, rudest and least courteous of anywhere I have been. That includes the “from yah” folks, especially the young ones.
I try to show good example by slowing down for docks with boats on them, paddlers, boat ramps, etc but am blown away by the jackassery and lack of respect for the fellow man in the Lowcountry area.
I have trolled for trout years ago but never flounder and have always been keen to try.
Learned something new. My D$&@ A$$ would’ve said juvenile striped. Any who agree on fishing during the week but only a few months before the traffic slows to a troll but most flounders go deep or other areas. I was practicing throwing a net at BP and caught the smallest of a flounder
The fringed flounder, Etropus crossotus
