My wife doesn’t know how to cook for less than 4 people. It there’s 4 people eating, she’ll cook for at least 8.

But leftover bacon?

One Simple Thanks!!

I have used the ready to go shrimp bait meal that already has the clay in it with great success. I just mix up like a third of cup, just enough to make a golf ball.

The “left over bacon” comment has pretty much derailed this thread!!! LOL!!! I’ve never heard of this “leftover bacon.” Please explain.

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

My family consists of myself, my wife,
my 7 year old daughter,

and my twin 2 year old daughters.

My wife will cook enough breakfast for 5 grown men and I can only eat so much…

My favorite is left over bacon from breakfast. Doesn’t stink after a long soak and it will load the trap every time.

What the hell is “leftover bacon”?

Well I put leftover clam dip and balled up white bread in my minnow trap this weekend. Tied it off my dock all day (Garden City). Didn’t catch a single minnow.

Had a buddy years ago( he’s gone now) that would use a ice pick to poke hole in a sardeen can!

A can of sardines has worked the best for us. Didn’t have one on hand this past weekend so we put a hot dog in the trap and dropped it in our usual spot. No minnows.

Were the hot dogs left over?

Yep. Dogs were still there w/ maybe a few nibbles.

Break hole crab up works the best

A few weekends ago, I saw a guy at Paradise landing put a handful of dry dog food in his traps…he caught more than enough mud minnows for several people.

Interesting question. My brother didn’t realize you had to put bait in the trap. I used bread. He had a bucket full of bait and I had a few. I honestly think placement of the trap makes a big difference

Hey Pick , you are correct, your brother has a nice spot.At times you will need bait,we would steal a very small piece of mamas ■■■■■■■ for our old homemade traps. As others have already said my vote for best is a crab with the shell pulled off, they work wonders for a dropnet when shrimping to.Every time I leave one out overnight something happens to it.otters ,gators or a thief
