Bait for Wapoo Cut in the morning

I will be picking up my cousin from Bishop Gadsden retirement center in the morning. I need to get some bait early so that I can launch by 7:30 if possible.

I don’t usually fish West of the Ashley. First and foremost how early and where can I buy some bait?

I plan to start at Elliott Cut; then try the Plum Island Tidal Flats; if necessary move to the James Island Creek docks; and end at Grice cove. Any hints for a successful day will be appreciated.

Haddrells is usually open at 6:30 AM.

I think their official open time is 7:00, but the guys always get their a bit early and have no problems letting you in.

got minnow bucket half full of shrimp in just a few casts this morning after putting in at wappoo…go under the bridge like you are going towards the terrace ramp…as soon as you pass under the bridge toss all along the marsh line before you get to the creek by the first house you come too…lots of little croakers/spots in there too…yum-yum food for reds

Besides buying bait, the mullet are everywhere if you take a cast net. Caught redfish today on them.
