I live off Wessinger, where is the closest place to get herring since Direct Bait closed for the season?
Depends on what part of the lake you are going to fish and where you will be launching…If you are launching at the Park & Ramp off Wessinger, David most times will be glad to meet you first thing in the morning at Koons Landing but minimum order is $20. If you are putting in up the lake, say at Sunset, then you can get bait from George on Macedonia Church Road. If you are putting in at the dam then either Richard or Better Bait is on the Lexington side of the dam. Not very easy in the winter months but at least it is available. I also live down Old Lexington so I have the same situation.

you could also try and call Eptings Landing and see if they have bait near back of bear creek…
