Bait in the Harbor

I have never really did much bottom fishing. We always troll and once or twice a year ill grab a box of squid when the bite slows down. Thinking about trying to get out Sun if weather man cooperates. Would like to catch some live bait and just mess around on the bottom and see what I can come up with. Where’s a got place to put some bait in the boat. Thanks

Near morris island watch for birds and bait flipping at surface right around first light,we have loaded up the last 2 trips.

Plenty of menhaden in the kiawah, stono. Heading out last sat we saw two big schools before we even hit the stono inlet, then ran across a school after the inlet also. There out there just have to look for signs of life.

Bo there are menhaden by the bazillions everywhere right now. The inlet of Schooner Creek near Fort Sumter is always loaded with them. You can literally see thousands of them flipping on the surface at any given time. Throw the net near some flipping menhaden and you should have enough for the whole day with one cast. Caught a few 3-4 foot bonnethead sharks with menhaden we caught in schooner this past weekend.
